Lead Guide

A Montessori child herself, Rachel’s affection for Montessori has always been strong. She believes deeply in “following the child,” and that doing so is essential to a child's social, emotional and educational development. Rachel is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College (BA), and has a Master of Fine Arts degree from George Washington University. She worked as a commercial interior designer in Washington, DC until her children (sons, both now teenagers) were born. A Baltimore, MD native, she and her family have called Scotch Plains, NJ home for over seventeen years. The draw to her “life’s calling” in Montessori prompted her to stay at her son’s Montessori School after he had finished Kindergarten. Rachel received her Montessori Credential through the Montessori Center for Teacher Development and has enjoyed the past seven years as a lead teacher/guide. She is overjoyed to be joining the Magnolia family in the fall of 2022 and to welcome new friends for a fantastic school year! When she’s not at school, Rachel enjoys taking long walks with her husband and dog, Olive-Elizabeth, doing puzzles, organizing, and exploring the world with her family.

If you think your child would thrive in a Montessori environment, give us a call or schedule a tour online. We would love for you to visit our school and learn more.
